Toyota Centre
Thorn lights up the Toyota Centre in Norway
For the recently opened Toyota Bilsenter in Økern, near Oslo, Thorn designed three flexible forms of lighting to match the functions taking place.
These consist of Prisma fittings combined with Corniche luminaires for the parking decks; Primata II fittings to provide a high level of illumination for the basement workshops; and suspended Line fittings for comfortable office lighting.
Glass and aluminium characterise the facades. The lighting system utilises daylight linking to maximise efficiency. Even over the large sales area electrical load has been kept to 11W/sq.m.
The building was designed by Niels Torp Architects.
