Thorn’s upgraded fluorescent packs more lighting punch

Not only does the revamped Punch II louvered fluorescent fitting deliver a 15 per cent better performance from its T8 lamps (LOR of 0.63 per cent), it does so with the promise of greater usability, Thorn having dramatically expanded the number of suspended versions. The control gear is in the side extrusion, which reduces depth by 20 per cent, and together with rounded edges undoubtedly contributes to a neater appearance.

All fittings come in 1200mm 36W, 1500mm 58W and 1800mm 70W sizes, single and twin versions. They all have the latest high frequency ballasts, including dimmable units, to give flicker-free starting, save energy, prolong tube life and automatically shutdown with lamp failure.  For areas requiring a different shape or style of fitting, the range includes a 600mm square fitting with four 18W lamps.

A choice of suspension methods – wire, close offset rod or pendant rod – is possible and continuous mounting can be achieved.

With the economic uncertainly driving contractors to focus on refurbishment programs, Punch II can come into its own. Its attractive, neat appearance, combined with good performance and simple installation, make it a cost effective lighting solution for a variety of commercial interiors.
