Alumet Stage LEDs add drama and excitement to Niort's Music Hall and Sports Centre

Niort is a pretty historic town in western France and one of the country's main financial centres (ranked fourth after Paris, Lyon and Lille). In cooperation with Neo Light lighting designers, INEO electrical consultants and the town's officials, Thorn has given Niort's new Music Hall and Sports Centre a vibrant, exciting personality.

Impressive lighting effects

An impressive exterior wall washing and accent lighting scheme has been made possible using Thorn's unique Alumet Stage illuminated column. Alumet Stage is elegantly designed and houses four multi-directional spotlights offering flicker-free light with good colour rendition efficiency.

A total of 18 columns have been installed, using blue and warm white LEDs to inspire and create a sense of fun and enjoyment for the local community. The effects from the spotlights can be easily adjusted to create drama and impact during special events, without the need to change the position of the columns. The special effects are made possible by a choice of light distributions, colours and optical accessories, which are also ideal for accentuating architecture and natural features.Efficient and low maintenance

The IP65 sealed lighting scheme is an energy saver too. The LED modules are rated at only 17W to provide significant energy savings compared to conventional light sources.

Alumet Stage has additionally been designed to optimise LED heat management, providing a long 50,000-lifetime – the equivalent of 12 years at a 4000-hour yearly burning time.

Niort's Music Hall and Sports Centre demonstrates how floodlighting not only enhances urban buildings, but also adds personality and character by softening and enlivening plain facades.
