Thorn illuminates Swiss ski jumping arenas

This winter Thorn modernised the lighting solutions of two Swiss ski jumping arenas: The famous World Cup ski jumping hill “Gross-Titlis-Schanze” in Engelberg and the Nordic Ski Arena in Kandersteg.

The main criteria for lighting the ski jumping hills was to allow ski jumpers to land safely, even in adverse visibility conditions such as fog and snowfall. Thorn solved this tricky task using a selection of floodlights - Altis, Areaflood and Champion - and worked closely with long-standing partners to overcome the challenging construction conditions.
