The Slovakian district of Devin in Bratislava has embraced Thorn's Plurio luminaires with NightTune technology.
The new solution replaces existing poor quality lighting installed in an area frequented by tourists. The 30 Plurio luminaires ensure safety alongside the river Danube and Devin Castle while simultaneously saving the municipality money and protecting local flora and fauna. Already, a year following installation, the lighting is adding value to the urban district.
Not only that, the use of NightTune technology is helping to tackle a problem unique to the area: mosquitoes. Local residents face issues with the wildlife, so it was important to choose a lighting solution that minimises the issue by not attracting them.
Another benefit of choosing Plurio with NightTune was the fact that it minimises light pollution thanks to its zero upward light emission, ensuring neighbouring properties do not encounter light trespass.
Dominika Ukropcova (Area Sales Manager, Zumtobel Group) said, “The experience with Plurio lighting has been nothing but positive. From an operational point of view, this is a more efficient solution and after a year of their operation, we can already say that they are aesthetically suitable additions to the character of our urban district.”
